Amazon Tax Solutions Program Manager, Tax Technology, Direct Tax Technology in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon’s tax team seeks a capable and motivated individual to be a Tax Solutions Project Manager in the Direct Tax Technology team, based in Seattle. The role is responsible for driving projects that ensure the tax professionals of Amazon’s Direct Tax Reporting and Compliance organization (R&C) are supported in their mission by world-class technology and processes. The impact of this work is improved processing efficiency and a technology-empowered Tax department that continues to meet the unique challenges of Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

• Managing work streams and/or projects within the Tax portfolio from initiation through planning, execution, and closeout.

• Taking the lead role with project owners, sponsors and subject matter experts to align on project and workstream objectives.

• Communicating the overall program roadmap and periodic status updates to executive stakeholder bodies.

• Identifying areas of risk to the project scope or timeline, and escalating to program leadership in a timely manner.

• Synthesizing requirements from many functions and demonstrating a solid working knowledge of requirements to project stakeholders and sponsors.

• Resource planning for PM team, from creation of plan to justification of needs to program sponsors.

• Executing against project closeout process and practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
