As the Global Facilities Regional Engineering I&C Engineer we are looking for someone to be responsible for providing technical support, expertise, and lead business process alignment on construction project design, management, schedule, cost control, testing & commissioning, and operational and maintenance programs for the facility systems. This includes I&C, SCADA, Life Safety system, Toxic Gas Monitoring, Telecom, Security, IoT systems at all manufacturing sites in your location / region. As a distributed team member residing in your current site/geography, you will represent all facility design standard alignment, construction project management, and O&M BKM alignment initiatives!

You will also support the Global Facilities Central Engineering Team, Construction Team, Line Planning Team and O&M Team in providing critical design standard alignment, supplier quality improvement, operational and maintenance input, and support construction projects!

Critical metrics include construction project management, schedule, cost control, safety index, and facilities system reliability improvement program in eliminating production events that minimize lost moves and scrap.

Design and Plan Systems and Buildings

  • Provide system designs for safe operations and maintenance.

  • Develop, review, and maintain systems specifications and standards for the corporation.

  • Engineering support for site system improvement projects (System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement and Equipment EOL replacements)

  • Lead all aspects of regional efforts and find opportunities to align strategic program (eg BCP, Critical spec, Quality Defense line).

  • Ensure designs align with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations.

  • Review and advise sites on periodic system status presentations.

  • Review and approve site capacity expansion and make business driven decisions on Facilities Reliability Improvement project capex.

Provide Project Support

  • Provide Micron specifications and standards to Design Firms and review detailed designs and specifications for the installation of new facilities infrastructure.

  • Provide support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval.

  • Provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources.

  • Ensure appropriate communication with local facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement and manufacturing partners as required to deliver project objectives.

  • Responsible for the timely review of design packages and providing detailed comments and feedback as necessary.

Project Management/Planning

  • Managing projects to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Preparing project Basis of design (BOD) documentation for bidding by third parties.

  • Tracking system capacities and future loading to ensure upgrades are completed on time.

  • Review and approval of project design drawings and 3D models and field installations during construction.

  • Review and approval of equipment and component submittals, RFI's, and commissioned systems.

Provide Technical Support and Expertise

  • Very knowledgeable of each sites Facility I&C / SCADA / IoT / Toxic Gas Monitoring, and Life Safety systems operational and maintenance capabilities in order to provide critical support.

  • Provide site/regional support for global facility initiatives.

  • Technically lead a global multi-functional team focused on project, design, construction, operational excellence.

  • Provide support to all sites including on site presence for construction project and critical I&C failures of Facility systems.

  • Actively involved in TPM implementation and alignment along with ongoing support for I&C systems.

  • Drive improvement in the quality of our utilities through variation reduction (SPC).

  • Drive the alignment for common methodologies including SPC, conformance, SIPP’s, MOC and 8D problem solving throughout the network for I&C systems

  • Identify and deploy cost reduction efforts while optimizing and reducing energy usage. for I&C systems throughout the network.

  • Assess and insure effective and consistent PM and predictive maintenance programs, procedures and checklists across the network

  • Regular communication with the site engineering and O&M teams on status and performance

  • Analyze and benchmark equipment performance.

  • Identify and develop training and certification programs that support global and site efforts.

  • Develop appropriate metrics to drive improvement (On time PM’s, MTTF, MTTR etc.).

  • Send out regular updates with key items of focus and initiatives.

  • You will review FIPA/METS events and provide recommendations to drive the reduction of critical I&C impact events.

  • Collaborate with the construction/engineering team to insure alignment on projects.

  • Support the network effort to implement, supervise and drive continuous improvement for success of Micron’s Sustainability programs in alignment with the long-term Sustainability strategy.

  • Benchmark system performance and drive outstanding approach (BICs) across network.

  • In depth review of site sustainability projects and sustainability data supervising to support site’s and company’s sustainability targets.

  • Provide technical advice and support to overcome challenges and roadblocks in project planning & execution.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of Facility I&C / SCADA / IoT / TGM systems Engineering experience.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems.
