Job Overview

The Ingredient Documentation team’s purpose is to make sure we document all the ingredient specifications and documents in a timely manner for all innovation, productivity and other R&D projects to facilitate commercialization of products across all brands within KDP.

The Sr. Scientist role within the Documentation team will be working in a fast paced cross-functional environment to manage various projects in the ingredient team within KDP R&D. This individual will be responsible for leading ingredient initiatives, developing ingredient specifications that are accurate, as well as managing critical FSMA requirements to make sure all our ingredients meet the required FDA standards. A successful candidate will have a passion for documentation consistency, adherence to standards, good problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. They should k now how to multi-task to achieve and deliver results in a highly deadline driven team.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:-

• Lead projects within the ingredient team such as new ingredient set up, new supplier approvals, cost savings initiatives, supply issues or production challenges.

• Manage workload of contractors within the ingredient team as needed by overlooking their day-to-day activities and making sure they stay on task.

• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers as needed to accomplish set objectives and obtain required documents in a timely manner .

• Work effectively within R&D (with Product Development, Sensory, Ingredients, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology) and with broader external R&D partners (Supply Chain, Quality, and Procurement) to track and move projects in a timely manner.

• Develop strategies to improve KDP Spec development program and work with the rest of the team to implement the processes.

• Develop SOPs and review documentation with attention to detail and technical data completeness as per established KDP Ingredient Standards.

• Submit sample analysis request in Lab Information Management System to our Analytical Chemistry team for all new ingredient and alternate supplier approvals.

• Occasional travel might be needed.

  COMPETENCIES:-

• Understand basics of Beverage Ingredients and their application in cold beverages and coffee formulations.

• Excellent written and presentation skills with some project management experience.

• Must have a high attention to detail with ingredient specifications and related technical information .

• Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing business needs, priorities, and other activities as needed .

• Leads projects and proactively builds strategy to improve the processes.

• Highly independent, excels in team-based culture and collaboration skills

Requirements

• Minimum of B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or allied field

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a related function within food/beverage (R&D, Quality), and/or CPG, and/or commensurate advanced education

• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• Optiva and SAP experience is considered as a plus
