We are currently seeking a qualified Assistant Controller to join our team.

Position Summary

  • Responsible for maintaining control of the accounting systems, monthly, half year and yearly accounting close process.

  • Manage preparation of monthly, half year and year-end balance sheet review reporting.

  • Assist with the production of accurate and timely financial reports, including month-end consolidated financial statements, inventory management and reconciliation, general ledger accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

  • Assist with strengthening banking relationships, cash management and treasury functions.

  • Oversee internal controls and annual external audits.

Role Competencies

  • A strong understanding of GAAP.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet and exceed deadlines on assigned projects.

  • Understanding of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet.

  • Understanding of cash management processes.

  • Understanding of cost accounting and inventory.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems.

Essential Functions

  • Create and/or modify month end close process.

  • Interaction with and manage both internal and external auditors providing supporting documentation and detailed information on a semi-annual and annual basis.

  • Coordination of the balance sheet review process.

  • Manage half year and year end reporting packages.

  • Manage the account reconciliation process.

  • Oversee completion of standard daily operations of assigned area of accounting system in order to provide business information to management and field personnel.

  • Analyze financial statements and other reports, note trends and deviations from standard operations, and may analyze information in order to provide management with appropriate and timely business information.

  • Manage monthly reporting, with an on-going participation in financial process improvements.

  • Participation in EBIT enhancing activities to maximize shareholder return.

  • Communicate with supervisors; managers; and other business, corporate, accounting, and finance staff in order to obtain and exchange information.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.

  • Master's Degree in Accounting preferred.
