Designation – Engineer-I / Engineer-II – Product Design

Primary Objective of Position – Provides technical expertise for design & development of electric machine technologies, including induction, brush commutated, and brushless permanent magnet motors for compressor application. Projects include lean development of a platform, sizing appropriate motors for a given application. Projects include development of machine design, related materials, and manufacturing processes. Collaboration across engineering, operations, and customer engineering is essential.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide engineeringsupport as required for E&D projects mainly New Product Development, Cost Reduction, Quality Improvement and Sustaining Engineering

  2. Design and develop system level constructions and/or modifications to meet product design requirements.

  3. Coordinate the creation and / or create design models and drawings.

  4. Coordinate prototype construction and experimental testing. Assist in the development of qualification test programs.

  5. Participate in team meetings and the design verification process.

  6. Discuss with Suppliers as necessary to optimize design requirements.

  7. Evaluate and specify the use of various materials and processes to meet product requirements.

  8. Designs and qualify new parts and constructions to meet product requirements.

  9. Create relevant engineering documents such as drawings, Inspection & Material sheets, test procedures, technical specifications, and relevant proposal documentation.

  10. Review the work products.

  11. Assume additional roles and responsibilities as required.

  12. Adherence to quality process

  13. Minimum Bachelor’s ofelectrical engineering or equivalentdegree in related field.

Job Requirements

  1. 2-3 years relevant Engineering / design experience in rotating machine industry. Experience in designing with materials, manufacturing processes, and methods used for industrial components are desirable.

  2. Candidates with experience in Rotating machines/variable frequency drives preferred.

  3. Knowledge and experience with relevant software tools (FEA/MatLab/SPEED) preferred.

  4. Knowledge of rotating machines / variable frequency drives

  5. General understanding and knowledge of design processes and techniques

  6. Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and team working.

  7. A willingness to learn is critical
