Reporting Relationship:Director of Social Services
Salary and Grade:$17 - $21.00 per hour; 76 Non-Exempt

Position Overview:The working supervisor will oversee all aspects of the Supportive Housing Program
Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Social Services in preparing the Annual United Way Proposal, Annual Progress Report (APR) and other HUD and Salvation Army related documentation
Maintain records and documentation for each participant as required by HUD and The Salvation Army
Collect rent payments and utility bills for clients enrolled in the Supportive Housing Program
Create and submit monthly rent payment vouchers
Supervise all Supportive Housing Program staff (Caseworkers and Case Managers)
Conduct weekly/bi-monthly home visits to participants homes
Recruit and enroll program participants
Represent The Salvation Army at all meetings of the Berks County Coalition to End Homelessness and related committees
Maintain the HMIS system and ensure Case Managers and Caseworkers are entering accurate information based on monthly report provided by Berks Coalition to End Homelessness
Maintain the United Way Statistical Report
Attend informational fairs, etc to promote the housing programs
Work with Case Managers and Caseworkers to see that all homes meet the standards set by HUD
Secure and supervise the Life Skills training classes
Assist in Food Distribution monthly or as scheduled
Assist in the programming and distributions for all Holiday Assistance programs
Assist in all other duties as assigned

Qualifications
BSW or other human services related degree required – MSW preferred
Must possess knowledge of the HUD regulations relating to Permanent Housing for Homeless and Disabled Families and Individuals
Must possess the computer skills necessary to maintain the HMIS system
Possess knowledge of the social, housing, financial and educational programs available to low income, disabled individuals in Berks County
Good organizational skills
PA drivers license
Must be self-motivated
Must possess good interpersonal skills and have a willingness to work with disadvantaged families and individuals
Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural an asset
Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check along with renewals every five years.
