Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Network Infrastructure Engineer in Korea. The Network Infrastructure Engineer will plan for, install, and repair telecommunications cables and equipment. Successful applicant must have an active U.S. Government-issued Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. They must be a self-starter and have a high degree of telecommunications knowledge.

How the Network Infrastrastructure Engineer will make an impact:

  • Conduct site surveys to understand customer’s requirements and to identify unique factors that will impact the installation of network cables and equipment.

  • Produce work packages, labor estimates, schedules and bills of materials for each project.

  • Prepare floor space diagrams, rack equipment diagrams, connectivity tables, and installation checklists.

  • Install cable infrastructure to include conduit, Protective Distribution Systems (PDS), cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, ground and all associated elements.

  • Install network equipment racks, raised floors, equipment into a rack or cabinet, cable ladder, patch panels, and other equipment Telecommunications Rooms.

  • Terminate and dress cables and components including CAT6 and fiber optic.

  • Verifies service by testing installed cabling, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.

  • Use Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Acrobat, AutoCAD, and other software to generate network designs, build BOMs, create reports, prepare presentations, etc.

  • Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.

  • Identify, track and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • BA/BS plus 2 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 4 years’ experience, or a High School diploma and 7 years’ experience.

  • Must be familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.

  • 8570 IAT Level II certification preferred.

  • BICSI RCDD certification is preferred.

  • Extremely knowledgeable about the use of mechanical fasteners, metal cutting, concrete drilling, installing racks, cable ladders, conduit and a wide variety of mechanical processes.

  • Ability to work with power tools and ladders.

  • Ability to work well with others and communicate with supervisors.

  • Computer literate with basic networking skills.

  • CAD experience preferred.

  • Solid customer support skills in a high visibility environment.

  • Well versed in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.

  • Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills. Must manage multiple simultaneous projects and prioritize assignments and tasks accordingly, remaining flexible to changing priorities and new initiatives.

  • Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

  • US passport valid for at least 2 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $76,690 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
