Your contribution

In the role of Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing strategies and commercial terms for your categories with a special focus on the military surveillance product portfolio. The focus of the role is on project purchasing, which means you will have close collaboration with the R&D departments within the company, in addition to purchasing, program and project managers. The company's platforms have a lifespan of more than ten years, therefore it is important as a buyer to have an understanding of the suppliers' long-term technical competitiveness.

Category manager responsible for the supply chain of the Surveillance organization, this includes both R&D and Production as well as existing and new suppliers.

Also Sourcing support to Solution organization. Responsible for the cross functional Category Team with full responsibility for today’s and coming supplier base within selected categories. A key part of this role is to support with project sourcing activities within NPI enabling product launches.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive Category Management Team and govern structure

• Set Procurement model and to be aligned with our customers contractual obligations – flow-down of requirements

• Challenge existing suppliers regarding performance, price and lead-times

• Secure supplier base within the category and replace non-performing suppliers where needed.

• Support R&D organization and Production within selected categories

• Responsibility for supplier selection and that Surveillance have the right supplier base for future products in the product roadmap within the category

• Drive productivity and cost savings for Surveillance globally from a category perspective

• Responsible for category specific material escalations from local production and selected partners

• Drive together with purchase, Supplier performance development

• Drive supplier sustainability improvements within selected categories

To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have

• Experience from a strategic sourcing/procurement role

• Excellent negotiations and communication skills

• International experience and working with different cultures

• SAP knowledge

• Experience in IVALUA platform is positive but not mandatory (S2C & P2P)

• Fluent in English, both verbal and written
