POSITION TITLE: HRMS / PAYROLL MANAGER

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Vice President Human Resources

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the administration of the company’s human resources, time and attendance and payroll systems. The position will be located at the company’s site in Williston, South Carolina.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Payroll Essential Functions

  • Process two automated bi-weekly payrolls. (Approx.750 employees).

  • Monitor federal, state, and local taxes, social security contributions, employee benefit contributions, garnishments and other deductions to ensure accuracy of individual paychecks.

  • If needed, set up new state tax and state unemployment insurance identification accounts.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, compensation, and payroll law.

  • Research and resolve any payroll tax issues that may arise.

  • Provide internal reporting required by other departments

  • Provide external reporting required to government agencies and benefit agencies.

  • Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries.

  • Coordinate with ADP for issuance of W-2’s, filing of taxes and paying of garnishments.

  • Maintain and complete, as required, such programs as EEOC, diversity, disabled vets, etc.

  • Maintenance of confidentiality regarding sensitive personal and financial information on all personnel.

  • Responsible for conducting Payroll Audits

PeopleSoft Essential Functions

  • PS Data Entry – keep current with all transactions

  • Regular auditing of PS data for total business data

  • Create/Run PS reports

  • Drive BU PA process and Reporting

  • Maintain PS BU Tables

  • PS Functionality testing

  • Participate in PS projects

  • Participate on weekly (or as needed) HRMS Team calls

  • Understand correlation between PS and ADP Payroll System

  • Responsible for conducting PS Audits

  • Act as subject matter expert in Payroll HRMS, providing regular training to associates and people managers on documented procedures

  • Comfortable presenting HRMS and payroll procedures and policies virtually or in person.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with ADP and PeopleSoft

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with automated time and attendance system

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.

  • Self-starter with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment.

  • Strong PC skills in Excel and Word.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
